Hydrafacials at Beauty Bar Laser Clinic

I’ve been hearing lots of hype on Hydrafacials lately so I decided it was something I had to try. They are absolutely AMAZING and highly addicting. I spent half an hour at Beauty Bar and Laser Clinic in Toronto (they have four locations) where I had my first experience.

The HydraFacial is a non-invasive skin resurfacing and skin rejuvenation treatment--much like a facial but with the use of a machine. It helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, treat acne, improve hyper pigmentation, remove congested pores and uneven skin tone with no surgery, no injections, no discomfort and no downtime.

I was in and out within a half an hour and on my way to enjoy the rest of my day. Having 1 Hydrafacial is the equivalent of a series of 5 facials. It cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates and extracts leaving the skin glowing and smooth.

I did a Hydrafacial 3 days before my wedding and it left me with a fantastic glow and even skin tone. I looked so refreshed like I had slept for days. There are no post breakouts or skin irritations after the procedure either. I was just mildly red upon completion but that went away within minutes after leaving the clinic. It’s definitely something I highly recommend and will be doing over and over again myself.

5 Health Benefits of Juicing

I recently jumped on the latest fad of juicing as it was highly recommended by several of my “healthy lifestyle” friends. After reading several different reviews, purchasing my own juicer and juicing every morning for the past month I found so many incredible health and digestive benefits to share with our C&C readers.  I am typically a very hungry person so juicing once a day while eating my main meals was most sufficient for my lifestyle. I preferred to start my morning off with a cup of freshly made juice along with a morning snack. I don’t think I could survive an entire morning on just juicing as I have a bigger appetite and it’s important to get in dietary fibers and protein to complete a healthy diet and lifestyle. Here are some of the major health benefits I noticed while juicing.

5 Benefits of Juicing

  1. 95% of the vitamins and enzymes our bodies need are found in the juice of raw fruits and vegetables. While juicing highly concentrated vitamins, minerals and enzymes rapidly enter the bloodstream absorbing all of the nutritional benefits of the fruits and vegetables and giving your digestive organs a much-needed rest. This is great for people who suffer from digestive and/or recovering from food intolerances. It gives your digestive system a break and time to repair its self.
  2. Juicing has many healing properties and will also facilitate weight loss, increase your energy levels, strengthen immunity, and create strong bones and a glowing complexion. It also reduces your chances of heart disease, cancer and strokes, three of the leading causes of death.
  3. Juicing helps raise the pH balance in our bodies, and in turn, helps to protect us from conditions related to acidic imbalances, including heart and kidney disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes.
  4.  Most people don’t get enough fruits and vegetables in their daily diet. Juicing helps ensure you’re getting your full daily intake.
  5. Juicing can aid in weight loss or help to maintain weight loss.

5 Benefits from eating Kale

5 Health Benefits from eating Kale

  1. It’s low in calories and high in fiber so it is amazing as a digestive detox and as a cleanse for the liver.  It’s the perfect food for low calorie meal planning as one cup of kale is only 36 calories with 5g of fiber. Great for women who suffer from chronic constipation.
  2. It’s packed with iron. Many females lack iron leaving us tired and moody but this simple vegetable has more iron per calorie than beef with zero fat content.
  3. Kale has large volumes of Vitamin C and A which is great for your hair, skin, immune system, and metabolism and for preventing various cancers.
  4. It is filled with Vitamin E , K and is high in calcium to help with bone health, prevent blood clotting (great for women on birth control) and promotes joint flexibility. This is a great super food for those who don’t eat dairy as kale has a higher amount of calcium per calorie than milk.
  5. Kale is great for cardiovascular health and is an anti-inflammatory aiding in digestion and great for people with digestive disturbances such as IBS and IBD.It helps lower your levels of bad cholesterol and lowers your risks of cancers and coronary artery disease.
